Of Creatures and Children: Sandra Kimzey Wimbish / November
Join us for an opening reception November 6th, 6-9p at Downtown (117 S. West Street).
Sandra Kimzey Wimbish loves to create art that challenges and stretches the viewer’s perception of our world. From intricately detailed ink drawings, and canvases filled with herds created of angles and lines, to mixed media pieces that celebrate exotic cultures, her work invites a second look—a pause for detail.
Of Creatures and Children: glimpses of people and animals from around the world brings together two of the artist’s favorite subjects: animals and people. The pieces on display at City Gallery were hand-picked from a larger exhibit recently back from galleries in Kansas (the artist’s home state), and include acrylic canvases, pen and ink, graphite, colored pencil and mixed media.
Sandra has lived in and travelled to numerous locations around the world. She currently resides and creates art in Raleigh, NC.
We love our city and the artists in it! The Vintage First Friday Gallery showcases the talent that is so deeply entrenched in our community. Vintage’s First Friday Gallery hosts an opening reception for artists and musicians every First Friday of the month, participating as a part of the First Friday Raleigh downtown art walk.
