Vintage Church Downtown hosted the Compassion Experience last weekend, and more than 3,000 participated in this interactive, immersive experience in the lives of children living in developing countries. At each Vintage Church location, January 21 was Compassion Sunday. The sermon was on Luke 10:30-37, in which Jesus tells the parable of The Good Samaritan.

Our prayer was that 500 children would be rescued from poverty. While we’re waiting on final numbers due to packets being handed in through next Sunday, we have already exceeded that through people from all three Vintage Church locations sponsoring children. We have already rescued a village of children!

Please Note: If you took a packet home with you, we’re glad that you’re prayerfully considering rescuing a child. It’s really important that these packets come back, because if not and they’re lost, that child goes back into the system and it takes months for the packet to be re-published. We’re hoping that you’ll rescue a child and turn in the card this Sunday! If for some reason you decide not to, please return the packet this Sunday. If you have decided to commit to rescuing a child, please do not mail it in! Bring your packet in on Sunday or return it to the offices this week.

We’d love for you to rescue a child if you missed Compassion Sunday. We will have packets for you this Sunday, and we’ve posted the sermon below for your reference.
