Parents, thank you for joining us as we slowed down during this season of Advent, reflecting on the New Testament and where Jesus reminds us to Fear Not. This week your child will be wrapping up the series thinking about what is God calling him or her to rest in- how does the phrase “fear not” relate to us now? As the presents go on shelves, the lights fade, and the gift wrap goes in the trash, help your child reflect on what they learned about trusting in God during this holiday season.

Catechism Question To Review As A Family:

Question 42: How is the Word of God to be read and heard?

Answer: With diligence, preparation, and prayer; so that we may accept it with faith, store it in our hearts, and practice it in our lives.

Verse to Memorize:

This is our last week with our memory verse! Encourage your child to say it from memory and celebrate at home. We would love to celebrate with you! Tag us on Instagram or facebook to share. Galatians 4:4-5  But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Advent Calendar

Over our advent series we are learning about various people in scripture who were told to “Fear Not.” This packet includes an advent map and blank cut-out people to foster discussion during the week about these stories and to help us slow down and remember that Jesus meets us in our weakest moments, telling us to ‘fear not’. Hang your advent map up on your refrigerator, in your child’s room, or somewhere where your family will be able to look at it and discuss it during the week. Help your child cut out and place his or her person on their advent map each week, watching the lesson at above or asking them to share the story they learned in Vintage Kids with you. Help re-teach and re-read as necessary. We hope this ongoing craft is a helpful reminder that Jesus is near to each of us. Fear Not!

This week’s cutout: YOU! As you reflect be sure to go back and discuss all you have learned throughout our FEAR NOT! Series.
