Questions? You’ve come to the right place.

What are you asking me to do?

First and foremost, we are asking that you pray, engage fully, and seek God’s direction on what he is asking of you. Find time and create space to hear what the Lord has for you. Use the Abound guide to assist in personal reflection with God. Talk with your spouse, Community Group, or others about what Abound and this commitment will mean for the next season of your life.

We are asking that you make a sacrificial commitment to God’s unimaginable vision – whatever it is that God leads you to do. Follow his lead.

Finally, we ask that you prepare to be amazed. We serve a God of abundance, and he is going to move in huge ways. We anticipate an unprecedented impact from our collective Abound commitments – something only God can do. Please mark your calendar for Commitment Sunday, November 14, as we’ll be making a step toward this vision together.

How exactly will we use the money raised during the Abound campaign?

We will continue launching new kingdom-minded non-profits and ministries, with the goal of twenty over twenty years. The needs of the Triangle are many, and these initiatives will bring healing and hope to a desperate world. We are not sending funds to established ministries, but equipping the people of Vintage Church who God has called to extend his Kingdom of love, justice, and mercy. In addition, the beautiful non-profits and ministries need spaces, beacons in the darkness where the suffering can find healing. Let’s provide them with space for God to work through the vision he’s given them.

Abound is about being proactive as a church. Most campaigns are reactive: There’s a building and we gotta buy it! We’re being proactive in order to move the mission forward. We have ideas, hopes, and intentions, but are primarily trying to grow in our faith and generosity so that when the right opportunity comes, we’ll be ready.

What is our timeline for Abound?

This is a two-year generosity initiative, so the giving timeline will be over 24 months. Some of us might choose to make yearly gifts, while others may choose to give monthly. Your commitment is built around your personal situation, so you can determine what works best in this regard. However, the impact of Abound will go well beyond 24 months as God will continue to work in and through Vintage Church.

When do I start giving toward my commitment?

On Sunday, December 14, we will have our All Church Cookie party. We will announce the total commitment from Abound, give our first gifts toward what God is going to do through this vision, and mark the beginning of our two-year campaign.

What if I am new around here?

Abound is about the vision for Vintage Church and our personal commitment to giving as followers of Jesus. We believe the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give toward, and we would love for you to make Vintage Church your home and join us in Abound. If you are ready for it, this is a perfect time for you to become part of this family and gospel movement!

What if I have significant financial difficulties?

Giving isn’t about what God want from you; rather, it’s about what God wants for you. It should be our joy and privilege to give at all times. If you are struggling with a large amount of debt or dealing with a recent job loss, you are responsible to care for yourself and your family through this difficult time. Spend time in prayer about the step to which God calls you and give joyfully in response. Please visit with one of the pastors if you need assistance with this or if you would like to speak with a budgeting counselor. We would be honored to help you!

When I commit to Abound, how will it change my general giving to Vintage Church?

During this two-year period, every contribution you make to Vintage is a contribution to our Abound initiative. Every gift made will go into one fund. Every aspect of the vision God is calling us toward in the coming years will be covered through our Abound giving.

Are there additional ways besides cash that I can give more toward Abound?

Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give towards Abound. You might have stocks, property, or other stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you with that. You can contact Ellie Ismail, our Executive Director of Strategy and Operations, at ellie.Ismail@vintagenc.com to make a gift of this type.

How long is my commitment?

We are asking that you make a 24-month commitment. This 2-year period will begin on Sunday, December 14, 2021. This will be our first big give toward our Abound fund. This initiative will end on December 31, 2023.

How can my kids be involved in Abound?

One of our main goals is 100% engagement, and that includes all our kids and students. You can begin to involve them in your family discussion and prayer about your commitment. Encourage them to think of creative ways they can give of their own talent resource. You will find Family Engagement sections each week within this booklet.

Can I update my commitment after commitment Sunday if my circumstances change?

Yes. You may update your commitment pledge at any time.

Is my Commitment Confidential?

Yes. Only our small financial team has knowledge of pledges and giving records.
