The Kingdom of Justice: Justice and Peace, Forever, Isaiah 2:1-4
Parents, join us as we continue in our Kingdom of Justice sermon series this week, studying the words of Isaiah as he leads us to understand God’s heart for Justice. During this series in Isaiah, your family will be learning about the biblical definition of justice and exploring how this definition teaches us to interact with God, ourselves, and our communities. Below are a variety of resources that mirror what your student is used to seeing and experiencing in a Vintage Kids classroom. Feel free to walk through this guide as it is or pick and choose based on your family. As always, your discipleship of your children is of utmost importance, Vintage is here to partner in that walk. Verse To Memorize With Your Kids:
As we spend time in Isaiah, we will be looking as a children’s ministry at what it looks like to lean into what scripture says about justice instead of what culture says about justice. We will be memorizing Psalm 89:14 as we travel through various passages in Isaiah; anchoring our truth in the fact that biblical justice is a foundation of who our Good Father is. Will you join us in memorizing this verse as a family and making scripture memorization part of your weekly routine?
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. (Psalm 89:14)
Use our resources below and print our memory verse out for your child to decorate and hang somewhere where you will see it and decorate it. Use the Memory Verse practice page to help you and your child pull the verse apart and think about what each piece of the verse means. Understanding of the verse will help in committing it to memory- not only of the head but also of the heart. If you don’t have a printer, feel free to write it on a piece of paper and work on it there!

Peace Bracelet Craft:
This week, we talked about how God will usher in peace. Isaiah 2 says “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord….nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”
For our craft this week we will be making peace bracelets.
Give each child a piece of twine and a few blue beads. You can make blue beads out of paper and tape you have at your house if you don’t have any beads. Talk about how in Isaiah 2 God promises to be the final judge, and with that judgment there is no more war. With that judgment there is peace.
As students make a necklace or bracelet with blue beads, let them know that blue represents peace. As they wear their bracelet or necklace they can remember their time in Isaiah learning about justice, but also remember that this promise is one that is not fulfilled yet. WE are to be the hands and feet of Jesus bringing peace to people in the here and now.
