Psalm 20:6-8
Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.
This season has been a season of trust and resting in the truth that God saves. These verses in Psalm 20 call us to pause and reflect on what we have been putting our trust in. This has been a time at home where our schedules and routines are varied, and the day-to-day looks very different from a few weeks ago. As you begin settling into this new routine and new roles in your home, we encourage you to reflect on where your trust lies. Have conversations as a family on where you have been putting your trust, and what parts of this new normal have uprooted that trust for you. I’m sure you will be surprised to find that you aren’t the only one who needs the reminder in Psalm 20 that our chariots and horses fall, but as we trust in the name of the Lord we stand upright. Speak that to your spouse, your children, and yourself this week.

We are updating our Family Worship Time this week to include a more interactive atmosphere for your kids at home! This is a great time to visit the serve site as a family and see how you can get plugged in, loving and serving as Jesus did during this difficult time for many! Are you already serving? Remind your kids of the reason you serve. It isn’t because of your own good, but because of who Jesus is. Jesus said he came to serve, not to be served. We serve because Jesus served first!
